Park Hyatt Guangzhou, the first urban Park Hyatt hotel in Southern China and the 37th Park Hyatt hotel worldwide, is located in the heart of Pearl River New Town – the city’s bustling business district on the historic Pearl River. The hotel is close to the Zaha Hadid-designed Guangzhou Opera House, the Guangdong Museum and the lush Huacheng Square. It is a 40-minute drive from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, a 15-minute drive from Guangzhou East Railway Station, a five-minute walk from the city’s two major metro lines, and a short walk from the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center – a perfect location for both business and leisure travelers.

The interior of Park Hyatt Guangzhou was designed by pioneering design firm Super Potato, known for creating textural spaces and using rustic materials, including reclaimed wood, iron, brick, stone and bronze, along with recycled materials such as metal machinery parts and recycled newspapers. To reinforce the local identity, Super Potato incorporated architectural details typical of the region, including decorative carvings, intricately carved wood panels, decorative lintels and traditional Lingnan-style tiles. As with all Park Hyatt hotels, art is a core element and highlight at Park Hyatt Guangzhou, where paintings, sculptures and decorative objects – many created by local artists – were specially commissioned to blend with the interiors.

Park Hyatt Guangzhou invited renowned sculptor Tadashi Kawamata – who has exhibited his work in some of the world’s leading art venues, including the Venice Biennale and Documenta 8 – to create a series of unique works for the hotel. Using reclaimed wood, Kawamata creates novel structures that transform spaces and give visitors a fresh perspective on their surroundings, while also challenging them to think about their interactions with the space. Kawamata sees the building as a lucky dragon rising into the sky, and inspired by this image, he created six abstract works for the hotel’s public areas, based on the idea of a dragon residing inside the building. Park Hyatt Guangzhou features 208 modern guestrooms, including 36 luxurious suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of the city.
